Hermann David Salomon Corrodi (Frascati, 23 luglio 1844 – Roma, 30 gennaio 1905). Born in Rome, the son of the Swiss painter Salomon Corrodi, he received training with his younger brother Arnold in Geneva, including the landscape painter Alexandre Calame. The Corrodi brothers were closely linked, traveling together in Europe and returning to Rome in 1866. Corrodi studied at the Accademia di San Luca, where he dedicated himself to landscape painting.Traveling and study led Hermann Corrodi to Paris, London in the 1970s, where he made contact with the English court and Vienna, where one of his paintings was awarded a gold medal. His main residence was in Rome, where he was a professor and member of the Accademia di San Luca.He also traveled to the Orient, Egypt, Syria, Turkey, Cyprus and Palestine. Corrodi's works can still be found today in all the important collections of paintings and museums.

Geboren in Rom als Sohn des Schweizer Malers Salomon Corrodi, erhielt er seine Ausbildung bei seinem jüngeren Bruder Arnold in Genf, unter anderem bei dem Landschaftsmaler Alexandre Calame. Die Corrodi-Brüder waren eng miteinander verbunden, reisten gemeinsam durch Europa und kehrten 1866 nach Rom zurück. Corrodi studiert an der Accademia di San Luca, wo er sich der Landschaftsmalerei widmet. Reisen und Studium führen Hermann Corrodi nach Paris, in den 70er Jahren nach London, wo er Kontakte zum englischen Hof knüpft und nach Wien, wo eines seiner Bilder mit einer Goldmedaille ausgezeichnet wird. Seinen Hauptwohnsitz hat er in Rom, wo er als Professor und Mitglied der Accademia di San Luca tätig ist, außerdem reist er in den Orient, nach Ägypten, Syrien, in die Türkei, nach Zypern und Palästina. Corrodis Werke sind noch heute in allen wichtigen Gemäldesammlungen und Museen zu finden.
