A cross country road trip with Betil Dagdelen

Wanderlust

We're head over heels for designer Betil Dagdelen's woven furniture—especially the latest pieces to hit our Shop. Always on the hunt for inspiration, Betil is a globetrotter in the truest sense of the word. In the past few years, her creative wanderlust has taken her from the beaches of Turkey to the lush forests of Costa Rica and the deserts of the western US (not to mention a zillion places in between).

In preparation for our upcoming feature story on Betil (check back tomorrow!), the designer kindly shared pics with us from a cross country trip she made—in a very cool, vintage teardrop trailer—all the way from NYC to Joshua Tree National Park in California. Along the way, she stopped to spend time with traditional Navajo weavers in Taos, New Mexico AND created her gorgeous Desert Weave Chairs. Be sure to swing by again tomorrow to see our feature—plus pictures from our visit with Betil to the outdoor sculpture museum, Storm King!
