Hans Wegner AP38 'Airport' chair by A.P. Stolen.
Exceptional modern chair. Designed in 1958, on tubular-steel frames with sharp triangle boomerang shape chrome details on both sides of each seat. Seats will be reupholstered without additional cost. Ask for a discount if you wish to handle the reupholstery yourself.
Although not designed specifically for airports this chair got its name after Copenhagen 'Kastrup Airport' which is still today furnished with similar chairs. With this tubular-steel chair Wegner proved that upholstered chairs do not have to be large and overstuffed in order to be comfortable in use.
This vintage piece can be upholstered in a range of fabrics by
Kvadrat
The fabric in the images is a selection of Hallingdal 65.
Kvadrat’s first textile ‘Hallingdal’ has become the archetype of woollen textiles. The very durable upholstery fabric was originally designed in 1965 by Nanna Ditzel and is now available in a version with an updated color scale: Hallingdal 65.
Hallingdal 65 is made of wool and viscose, which complement each other well: the wool provides excellent durability and flexibility, whilst the viscose adds brilliance and depth to the color. Both materials are dyed before they are spun, which highlights the rich texture of the fabric.
Please note: colors displayed digitally may vary slightly from the actual product.
