Studio Superego

Asti, Italien

Studio Superego is an Italian design studio that was founded in 2003 from its precursor Movimento Moderno — a design, decorative arts, and antiques brand. Key Studio Superego designer Edoardo Scagliola was instrumental in establishing the brand’s ethos of combining the emotionally evocative characteristics of childhood toys with contemporary design and high-end, luxury materials. The jewel-colours and perfectly polished metallic sheen in pieces like the DNA Coffee Table (2017) or the Bubbles Table Lamp (2013) are typical of the studio’s playful, Pop Art-inspired approach, while pieces like the Tourmeline Console Table (2017) and Badakhshan Console (2012) that the studio designed for Metea embody the ongoing obsession with plexiglass, semi-precious stones, and minerals.

Studio Superego collaborates with prominent Italian and international designers to create exclusive collections of eye-popping furniture, lighting, and design objects in strictly limited editions. At the cutting edge of design, pop, and street culture, and collaborating with artists and designers such as Jeremy Fish, Massimo Giacon, Alessandro Mendini, and BO130, Studio Superego is definitely not for the faint-hearted.
